Description As the Senior Engineering Manager of the Space and Strategic Sensors Engineering team at Honeywell Aerospace you will play a critical role in leading and overseeing a team of highly skilled engineers in the design, development, and delivery of advanced sensors for Space and Strategic applications. This position is pivotal in shaping the future of our technological advancements and ensuring the successful execution of complex projects. This team provides the core interferometric fiber optic gyro design capability for the COE supporting Space and Strategic Navigation products, along with critical engineering support for the PIGA float assembly and Alt PIGA sensor. This team will also continue working closely with the advanced technologies organization to develop the technology for a resonant fiber optic gyro. You will report directly to the Sensing, Guidance and Navigation Center of Excellence (COE) Senior Engineering Director, and you’ll work out of the Deer Valley, Arizona location on a hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will impact the strategic direction of engineering activities, drive innovation, and set clear objectives and expectations for your team, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and objectives. Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide strategic direction for engineering activities, aligning them with the company's goals and objectives. • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive innovation and achieve business objectives. • Ensure adherence to engineering best practices, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. • Manage and optimize engineering resources, budgets, and timelines. • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity. • Develop a high-performing engineering team. • Control Engineering department expense budget. • Ensure program cost and schedule adherence (program EAC and milestone performance). • Identify and mitigate risks. • Interact with customers (internal and external) at a leadership level. • Collaborate with GBE teams to develop product roadmaps, STRAP inputs, and customer pursuits. • Facilitate the development/training of engineering resources. • Drive management operating systems that ensure project performance in accordance with internal and external stakeholder requirements. Qualifications US PERSON REQUIREMENT Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization. YOU MUST HAVE • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. • 10+ years of experience in engineering management and systems integration. • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, systems integration, and project management. • Proficiency in engineering tools and technologies relevant to sensing and navigation systems. WE VALUE • Advanced Engineering degrees such as MS in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or MBA. • Experience in leading complex engineering projects in the aerospace or defense sectors. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for innovation and continuous learning.
