Basic Qualifications Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience, plus minimum 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus minimum 3 years of relevant experience Clearance Requirements: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. Responsibilities for this Position Description: General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is a high-tech business focusing on software and hardware system integration, cutting-edge research and development, and manufacturing. We provide premium systems, services, and products for the Department of Defense, government agencies and commercial clients. We are a technology leader in numerous areas including technology insertion; acoustic sensors; signal processing; combat systems; torpedoes; cyber security; knowledge management; and electronic warfare. GDMS’s ability to leverage flexibility, rapid turnaround, customer responsiveness, and encourage an environment for experimental research has been critical to our success in developing, producing, and supporting numerous mission critical national defense systems. We are seeking a Product Manager to work out of our Colorado Springs, CO office. GDMS is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and driven Product Manager to join our GPS Source team. GPS Source designs, develops, produces, and sustains GPS/PNT (Positioning, Navigation, and Timing) products for the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations. Our dedicated team collaborates closely with military customers, internal engineering and production teams, and industry partners to deliver reliable, mission-critical PNT solutions for defense and commercial platforms. Key Responsibilities: As the Product Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in the success of our products and programs. Your responsibilities will include: Integrate R&D, manufacturing, and service functions to drive product acceptance and meet corporate business objectives such as revenue, margin, quality, and time-to-market. Authorize work, organize interdepartmental activities, and track progress against baseline plans to ensure timely completion of tasks. Lead cross-functional project teams to identify and quantify risks and opportunities and manage risk mitigation and opportunity capture activities. Manage multiple concurrent programs and contracts, balancing priorities across the portfolio to meet schedule, cost, and technical objectives. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure resource alignment with product/program goals. Coordinate production and delivery activities, ensuring customer requirements are met on time and within budget. Define and manage executable strategies to meet technical requirements and budgets. Develop and implement product strategies and roadmaps for assigned product lines. Develop and maintain relationships with Sales and end users, fostering new business opportunities and identifying emerging requirements. Manage project financials including budgets, estimates at completion (EACs), revenue forecasting, and variance analysis, reporting status to leadership on a regular basis. Track program performance metrics, including earned value indicators (BCWS, BCWP, schedule and cost variance), and take corrective action when performance trends deviate from plan. Forecast product/project completion based on performance trends and identify scope changes to develop positions for cost and schedule adjustments. Interface with customers to understand product use and requirements, formulating these in a Market/Product Requirements Document. Lead customer and supplier negotiations and support technical inquiries. Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance against deliverables, schedules, and quality requirements, escalating issues as needed. Manage product configurations, data sheets, and is responsible for the profit and loss of products/projects. Coordinate engineering change activities (ECOs/ECRs) with configuration management, engineering, and production teams to ensure changes are properly evaluated, approved, and implemented. Support the development and execution of proposal plans and strategies, including ROM development and formal proposal responses for government customers. Support DoD acquisition milestones and program reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR, PMR) and coordinate associated deliverables. Support program execution utilizing proposal plans and strategies to develop, define, and implement cohesive, integrated program, subcontractor, and material plans that achieve overall current and long-term objectives of the program, business unit, and division. Support the development of WBS and WBS dictionary as baseline for scope definition and effective integrated cost/schedule management of projects. Support the development and maintenance of integrated master schedules (IMS) and track progress to ensure milestones and deliverables. May be required to travel. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Identify opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation. Possess exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively. Demonstrated outstanding relationship management skills, enabling the development and maintenance of strong, positive relationships with government customers and internal stakeholders. Exhibit strong decision-making abilities, characterized by making sound, proactive choices that drive success. Possess excellent negotiation skills, with a proven ability to achieve win-win solutions. Demonstrate a comprehensive technical understanding of company products, competitive products, and services, including knowledge of work estimating, allocation, scheduling, and authorization. Ability to evaluate quality of work product to ensure satisfaction of customer requirements. Proficient in developing and implementing product and project strategies and tactics, with a strong ability to translate proposal plans and strategies into executable, cohesive project, and program plans. Highly proficient ability to identify issues, track progress, and follow through on effective corrective actions based on data analysis and trends. Highly proficient ability to lead teams in matrix organization to achieve schedule, cost, and technical performance objectives. Highly proficient ability to track work accomplished to baseline plans to ensure rate of work completion is sufficient to meet schedules. Highly proficient understanding of basic philosophy of program schedules, risk areas, slack time, and critical path. Fully proficient in MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Ability to develop and execute proposal plans and strategies. Possess full proficiency in articulating value propositions and making effective trades within project trade spaces; skilled in presenting to customers and leadership to communicate product capabilities and program status. Fully proficient understanding of the fundamentals of risk and opportunity management and ability to apply them to projects and suppliers. Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes and government contracting fundamentals is preferred. Experience with ERP systems and data analytics tools is a plus. Workplace Options: This position is hybrid On-site/Flex.
