Sr. Product Manager – Pyrometers & Linescanners
Fluke Process Instruments Business Unit
Position Overview
The Product Manager – Pyrometers & Linescanners is responsible for end-to-end product lifecycle ownership of Fluke Process Instruments’ industrial infrared temperature measurement portfolio, including infrared linescanners, system solutions, and fixed/portable pyrometers.
This role is accountable for portfolio strategy, roadmap execution, pricing and positioning, voice-of-customer (VOC), and commercial success, partnering cross‑functionally with Sales, Engineering, Operations, Marketing, and Global Regions to drive profitable growth in core and high‑growth industrial markets.
The role directly supports Fluke’s strategic pillars of Customer Success Inspires, Kaizen Is Our Way, and We Compete, while applying Fortive Business System (FBS) principles to continuously improve product and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Portfolio Management
Own the multi‑year product strategy and roadmap for Linescanners (e.g., PRIMA, CS400, TIP900) and Pyrometer portfolios (e.g., ENDUR, THERM, Raytek, MI3) across performance tiers and applications.
Define portfolio segmentation, value propositions, and investment priorities aligned to market needs, vertical strategies, and Fluke/FPI growth objectives.
Develop and maintain business cases for new product introductions (NPI), line extensions, and lifecycle transitions.
Voice of Customer & Market Insight
Lead VOC, win/loss, and market analysis to deeply understand customer workflows, application needs, and unmet pain points across industries such as metals, glass, plastics, cement, paper, and semiconductors.
Translate customer insights into clear product requirements, pricing strategies, and roadmap decisions.
Monitor competitive landscape and emerging technologies to inform differentiation and defensibility.
New Product Introduction (NPI) & Lifecycle Execution
Serve as product owner for NPIs, driving requirements definition, launch readiness, and post‑launch performance tracking.
Partner closely with Engineering and Operations to balance performance, cost, quality, and manufacturability throughout the lifecycle.
Lead portfolio simplification, cost‑out, and end‑of‑life (EOL) initiatives using data‑driven, FBS‑based decision making.
Commercial Enablement & Go‑to‑Market
Define pricing, positioning, and value messaging for global sales, distributor, and specialist channels.
Support sales enablement, including training, tools, application guidance, and key customer engagements.
Collaborate with Marketing on launch plans, campaigns, and application-driven collateral aligned to target industries and buying cycles.
Business Performance & Continuous Improvement
Own key product KPIs including revenue growth, margin, mix, attach rates, VOC metrics, and launch performance.
Apply FBS and kaizen to continuously improve portfolio profitability, customer experience, and internal execution.
Present clear, fact‑based updates in ops reviews, portfolio reviews, and strategy forums.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
5+ years of experience in product management, product marketing, or commercial strategy, preferably in industrial, instrumentation, sensors, or automation products
Demonstrated experience managing hardware and system-based portfolios across multiple lifecycle stages
Strong ability to translate technical concepts into customer value propositions
Experience working in cross‑functional, global environments
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or advanced technical degree
Experience with infrared temperature measurement, imaging, or industrial sensing
Familiarity with direct, distributor, and system integrator sales models
Experience applying Fortive Business System (FBS) or Lean methodologies
Proven success leading NPIs and complex product portfolios
