Description
As a Senior Software Development Engineer on OCI Build, you will independently design, build, and operate components of a critical OCI developer infrastructure platform. You will solve complex problems across distributed systems, build execution, scalability, reliability, security, and developer productivity while contributing to architecture and component design. You will collaborate across OCI, troubleshoot challenging production issues, and mentor other engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical guidance.
OCI Build is a critical developer infrastructure platform that enables OCI engineering teams to securely and reliably turn source code into deployable artifacts at cloud scale.
As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will design, build, and operate components of OCI Build while solving challenging problems across distributed systems, build execution, scalability, reliability, security, and developer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently own the design, implementation, and operation of significant OCI Build components and features.
- Design scalable and reliable solutions for build execution, orchestration, artifact publishing, and CI/CD workflows.
- Write high-quality production code and drive features from design through deployment and operation.
- Improve system performance, capacity, reliability, observability, and developer experience.
- Build secure solutions around workload isolation, identities, secrets, dependencies, and artifact handling.
- Debug complex production issues across services and infrastructure and drive fixes that prevent recurrence.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews and contribute to the evolution of the broader Build platform.
- Collaborate with engineers and partner teams across OCI to deliver integrated solutions and resolve customer problems.
- Improve engineering practices through automation, testing, monitoring, operational readiness, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and guide other engineers through design discussions, code reviews, debugging, and knowledge sharing.
What We're Looking For
- Strong software engineering and system-design fundamentals.

- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills across software and infrastructure.
- Good engineering judgment around reliability, security, performance, and maintainability.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and help other engineers grow.
Experience with CI/CD, build systems, Kubernetes, compute infrastructure, developer platforms, or software supply-chain security is valuable, but experience with every technology is not required.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $92,500 to $209,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
