Description
Direct and manage the software design, development, implementation and support of multiple teams and/or their supporting processes to meet organizational expectations. Lead the strategic direction and function as a liaison across the Technology and Digital organization, and business stakeholders. Lead and uphold the associate continuous high-performance process. - Manage development and support team(s) and associates who are responsible for all phases of the system development and implementation process including analysis, design, development, implementation, testing, and ongoing support
- Lead multiple product domains, development projects/initiatives, working closely with technology and business/product management to identify and translate complex business requirements into architectural design
- Provide technical consulting and leadership, identifying and implementing new uses of information technologies that assist the functional business units in meeting their strategic objectives
- Manage relationship with business stakeholders and third parties (as appropriate), ensuring high standards and quality of technical solutions, keeping abreast of latest technology developments
- Drive technology change management and collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure processes are in place to reduce performance and production incidents
- Act as an expert on the products and features teams and associates are building to solve the user problems identified with your product management partner
- Work with Product Management to prioritize, scope and plan business milestones
- Support timely delivery of software solutions to deliver business needs, while providing a transparent view to progress
- Administer all facets of associate administration including hiring, performance management, resource allocation and associate development
- Monitor systems performance and resolution of production incidents, which may require 24 hr/7-day week coverage
- Drive continuous organizational improvements
- Maintain regular communications to team members regarding the enterprise and technology initiatives
- Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports

- Lead software engineering teams responsible for the design, development, implementation, support, and modernization of Finance & Accounting technology solutions.
- Provide technical leadership for cloud-native applications built on Microsoft Azure utilizing Java, React, APIs, and modern integration architectures.
- Partner with Product Management to translate product roadmaps and business requirements into scalable technology solutions.
- Lead engineering efforts supporting Finance & Accounting data products and data domains leveraging Azure Databricks and modern cloud data architectures.
- Ensure applications and data platforms meet reliability, scalability, security, compliance, and operational excellence standards.
- Drive adoption of Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, automation, observability, and modern software engineering practices.
- Lead engineering teams responsible for delivering Generative AI and Agentic AI capabilities that automate Finance & Accounting processes and accelerate business insights.
- Oversee the development and support of AI-powered solutions utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), and agent-based architectures.
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture, AI Governance, and platform teams to ensure AI solutions align with enterprise standards, security requirements, approved technology patterns, and Responsible AI practices.
- Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain high-performing engineering talent while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Cloud & Application Engineering
• Experience building and supporting enterprise applications utilizing Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with Java-based backend development, React front-end development, APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience leading cloud modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
Data & Analytics
• Experience building and supporting solutions utilizing Azure Databricks.
• Experience with enterprise data products, data domains, data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
• Experience integrating operational applications with Databricks to enable reporting, analytics, AI, and self-service data capabilities.
• Experience with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and modern cloud data platform architectures.
Agentic AI & Generative AI
• Experience designing, developing, and operationalizing Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions in enterprise environments.
• Experience leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, embeddings, prompt engineering, and agent evaluation frameworks.
• Experience building AI-powered workflows and autonomous agents utilizing LangChain, LangGraph, and LangSmith.
• Experience implementing governance, testing, monitoring, observability, and operational support models for enterprise AI solutions.
• Experience integrating AI agents with enterprise applications, APIs, Azure Databricks, and enterprise knowledge repositories.
Finance & Accounting Technology
• Experience supporting Finance & Accounting applications, financial reporting systems, ERP platforms, audit solutions, data platforms, or enterprise business applications.
• Familiarity with Oracle ERP, Oracle EBS, Oracle Cloud, or similar enterprise financial platforms.
• Understanding of financial controls, audit requirements, and compliance requirements.
Leadership
• Experience leading large-scale enterprise technology initiatives.
• Experience managing distributed engineering teams and vendor partners.
• Proven ability to develop engineering talent and build high-performing teams.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across Product Management, Architecture, Data Engineering, Security, and Infrastructure organizations.
Minimum
- Bachelor's Degree computer science, information systems, or related technical field
- High School Diploma or GED
- Any direct technical experience in related disciplines
- 5+ years of experience in eCommerce, retails systems or high transaction software solutions
- 8+ years of experience in administrative management of technical teams and/ or extended staff
- Any extensive experience leading technology initiatives
- Solid administrative and project management skills
- Proven track record of delivering objectives on time and within budget
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate information to customers and to all levels within the organization
- Comfortable managing team members with different skill sets and technical areas of focus and expertise
- Proven knowledge of multiple programming languages and frameworks as either a developer or manager
- Understanding and practice with agile software development and management
