Sr. Software Engineer – Distributed Systems & Platform Integration

What You’ll Do Platform Integration (Primary Focus) - Build and maintain integration layers that connect application software to our distributed platform - Develop API interfaces (gRPC and/or REST) that allow existing systems to leverage platform capabilities - Enable legacy and modern systems to communicate effectively without requiring full rewrites API & System Design - Define and implement clear, scalable API contracts - Partner with application teams to understand integration needs and ensure practical, usable solutions - Design systems with a focus on performance, reliability, and long-term maintainability Platform Contribution - Contribute to the underlying platform (Rust-based), including messaging, coordination, and system components - Help evolve the platform toward more advanced, AI-enabled workflows and capabilities Collaboration & Problem Solving - Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews - Troubleshoot integration issues, system behavior, and performance challenges across environments - Contribute to documentation, best practices, and integration guidance What You Bring Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) - Strong experience with C++ in production environments - Experience designing and building APIs (gRPC and/or REST) - Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts (event-driven systems, messaging, concurrency) - Ability to design across system boundaries and work with multiple technologies - Experience working in Linux-based development environments Preferred Qualifications - Experience with Rust or willingness to learn - Familiarity with distributed or decentralized systems (e.g., P2P, consensus models) - Experience with tools like Protocol Buffers , async frameworks, or modern backend systems - Exposure to AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) - Experience with Python, frontend frameworks, or C++ UI frameworks (e.g., Qt) Why This Role - Work on complex, high-impact systems that connect next-generation technology with real-world applications - Influence how a distributed platform is adopted across an entire product ecosystem - Collaborate across engineering teams and contribute to long-term platform strategy - Be part of a team exploring the intersection of distributed systems and emerging AI capabilities Bottom Line This role is ideal for a senior engineer who enjoys: - Solving complex integration challenges - Bridging modern and legacy systems - Working across architecture, APIs, and platform development
