Description

As a Software Engineer II here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will be accountable for developing and maintaining software applications for our business. You will work on cutting-edge technologies and work with a team of talented engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions. You will report directly to our Software Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our Aguadilla, Puerto Rico location. External hires will begin with 90 days onsite before transitioning to a hybrid work schedule. Three days onsite and 2 days offsite. In this role, you will have a direct impact on the development of software solutions that are used in commercial, defense, and space aircraft around the world. You will contribute to the design, coding, testing, and debugging software applications, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance. Be part of a team that designs, develops and integrates highly complex software functions within Honeywell Aerospace’s Software Verification & Validation Center of Excellence. You will be an active and integral member of a team to achieve the completion of goals. You will also generate innovative solutions in work situations, trying different and novel ways to deal with problems and opportunities. Key Responsibilities: - Requirement Analysis - Test Strategy & Design - Test Development, Execution & Debug - Reviews (Requirement & test) - Formal Testing (RFS & SC) - Certification Support - Support the Test Experts in deploying new initiatives - Tools, test methodologies, etc. - Providing verification deliverables, as per DO-178 / SW V&V CoE Process to the Program Lead - Continuously search for deployment opportunities of our organization’s improvement strategies Travel, up to 25% to the US and/ or internationally may be required. YOU MUST HAVE: - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics - 2+ years of experience in Software/Requirement testing - 2+ years of embedded real-time software development experience - 2+ years of development experience in C/C++ and Python - Ability to read, write and speak English WE VALUE: - Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science - Understanding of software requirements of varying complexity - Hardware and software debug with lab equipment (Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, etc…) - Hands on experience in Multicore Processor and good understanding of processor architecture - Experience in avionics software/systems/software verification - Experience in development of application/driver for protocols like Arinc429, RS232, RS422, MIL-STD-1553 - Demonstrate good working knowledge on DO178B/C certification - Technical skills with emphasis in the areas of software development and verification processes, certification, and DO-178 design assurance guidelines - Understanding of software verification methods and tools currently in use as well as versed in industry standards and direction - Understanding various software development lifecycles - Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices - Diverse and global teaming and collaboration - Effective communicator - Wide degree of creativity - Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events BENEFITS OF WORKING FOR HONEYWELL AEROSPACE In addition to a performance-driven salary, cutting-edge work, and developing solutions side-by-side with dedicated experts in their fields, Honeywell Aerospace employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.
