We are seeking an experienced, highly productive Software Engineer to design and develop algorithms, simulations, and visualization tools for autonomous robotics. The ideal candidate will be passionate about cutting-edge technologies for prototype systems. You will engage in the full software process—from concept to design and demonstration—leading dynamic project teams and integrating innovative ideas from various fields. Required Qualifications - Bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering or related field - At least 5 years of industry experience in advanced software development in a team environment - Programming experience in C++ programming language - Experience developing plugins with modern Gazebo simulation software - Experience using one or more development tools - Experience writing algorithmic code, including complexity analysis, performance optimization, and multithreading - US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED; Successful candidates will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information Desired Qualifications - Advanced degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, applied math, or related field - Experience with Gazebo 11 and/or Gazebo Jetty - Significant experience programming in C++ 17 or later C++ version - Understanding of modeling vehicle motion (boats/submarines/aerial vehicles). - Experience in advanced algorithm integration and/or data analytics applications - Experience with additional programming languages - Experience in software validation and testing - Experience in Probability/Statistics, Linear Algebra, Multivariate Calculus Position Location: Reston, VA *The selected individual(s) will be required to work from the Reston, VA office.
