Location: This position is available in Phoenix, AZ
The exact worksite location will be selected based on business requirements and the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.
The hourly base range for this position is $18-$22/hr. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to design, develop, build, and test aerospace components & systems. You will work alongside a mentor, learning and contributing to key engineering processes.
Key Required Skills
- Basic programming knowledge : Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Python, Java, C, C++, or C#. Candidates should be able to read simple code, understand variables, loops, conditions, and functions, and be comfortable learning new tools.
- Interest in software development : Awareness that software is built through a process that includes understanding requirements, designing a solution, writing code, testing, reviewing, and improving it.
- Problem-solving mindset : Ability to break down a problem, ask thoughtful questions, try possible solutions, learn from mistakes, and explain what was tried.
- Debugging and testing curiosity : Willingness to investigate why something is not working, use evidence to narrow down issues, and test changes carefully.
- Communication skills : Ability to share progress, explain blockers, participate in team discussions, listen to feedback, and ask for help when needed.
- Teamwork and professionalism : Readiness to collaborate respectfully, follow guidance, complete assigned tasks, and be dependable in a workplace environment.
- Interest in engineering systems : Curiosity about how software interacts with hardware, devices, aircraft systems, displays, data communication, or embedded systems. Prior experience is helpful but not required.
- Documentation and attention to detail : Ability to write clear notes, follow instructions, track work, and pay attention to accuracy and quality.
- Learning agility : Enthusiasm for learning new technical topics such as embedded systems, communication interfaces, modeling tools, avionics concepts, or safety-critical software.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be a US Person
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Be a High School Student enrolled in a computer science or robotics program at a public school within one of our partner school districts or intermediaries:
