Senior Software Engineer

ARS is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the U.S. Air Force KC-46 Weapon System Lifecycle (WLC) Program. The selected candidate will provide software engineering expertise across the full system lifecycle, supporting software design, integration, testing, implementation, sustainment, and modernization efforts for mission-critical aircraft systems. Responsibilities include: - Support the design, development, integration, testing, implementation, and sustainment of software systems supporting the KC-46 weapon system. - Analyze software and system requirements and translate operational needs into technical solutions. - Participate in software architecture, systems integration, verification, validation, and software assurance activities. - Review and develop software engineering documentation, including Software Development Plans (SDPs) and technical reports. - Support hardware and software integration across aircraft and ground support systems. - Perform software deficiency analysis and recommend corrective actions. - Participate in engineering reviews, technical interchange meetings, design reviews, and milestone activities. - Assist with configuration management, risk management, and systems engineering documentation. - Support Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness and Airworthiness compliance activities. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, government personnel, and contractors throughout the system lifecycle. - Other duties as assigned Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements: - Must be a US citizen - Active Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain/maintain one) - Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field with twelve (12) years of relevant experience, including five (5) years supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs; OR Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field with fifteen (15) years of relevant experience, including five (5) years supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs; OR twenty (20) years of directly related experience with applicable certifications, including eight (8) years supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs). - Demonstrated experience applying software engineering principles throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). - Experience supporting software design, systems integration, testing, verification, validation (V&V), implementation, and sustainment activities. - Knowledge of software architecture, systems engineering, and software assurance methodologies. - Ability to interpret technical requirements and develop engineering documentation. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
